This City & Guilds Course in Beauty Therapy prepares learners with the foundational and practical competency that is required to work almost anywhere in the world. The aim of this programme is to bring together all aspects of the Beauty Industry, including Professionalism, Health and Wellness, Facials and Skincare, Slimming and Massage, as well as Business Administration.

The above aspects will equip learners for all career paths in the Beauty Industry. Learners will be able to gain placement into the following areas: Beauty Salons, Spas, Health Hydros, Cruise Ships, Cosmetic Houses, Game Lodges, Hotels and Health Farms. All of which offer an exciting, challenging and rewarding profession. This programme includes practical workplace assessments in the industry.

Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils

Provide Indian head massage

Apply individual permanent lashes

Workplace Learning (Year 1 and 2)

This programme includes a compulsory Workplace Learning component. Workplace Learning provides important opportunities for professional and personal growth. It addresses specific competencies identified for the acquisition of the qualification, which relates to the development of skills that will make the learner employable and will assist in developing his/her personal skills.


Full Time

1 year full-time study for the City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (International) (3003-76).

1 year full-time study for the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques (International) (3003-78)


Communication at NQF Level 3/Grade 11 or equivalent.

Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3/Grade 11 or equivalent.

Knowledge in Life Sciences or Biology would be an advantage.

Admission may be subject to an interview with an academic staff member.



All text books are excluded from the tuition fees. All Damelin learning manuals are included in the tuition fees. A list of textbooks will be provided by your nearest Damelin campus’ academic department.

Learners are expected to make provision for a uniform and beauty products, subject to quote from suppliers.

All external exam fees are included for the first attempt; thereafter learners will be responsible for the payment of any reassessment to the relevant assessment bodies (City & Guilds).
